Community College

How does Community College work?

A student has two main options of obtaining his bachelor's degree.  The first option is to complete 4 years at a university immediately after high school graduation.

The second option is to complete 2 years at a community college and graduate with an Associates of Art (A.A) degree.  From there, a student will finish his junior and senior year at the university.

Given that the student stays on track, either option only takes 4 years to obtain a bachelor's degree.

Florida state law guarantees that the 36 hour general education block at any state community college will be accepted at any other public institution in Florida.

An A.A. graduate is also guaranteed admission to at least ONE of the 11 state universities.
